Results & Training
Send in your weekly results, whether it's your Saturday parkrun or something longer on the Sunday. We will then put them all into a weekly report, sharing the successes of our members as we go. Also keep an eye out for details of our Wednesday night training sessions.

Endings and Beginnings
YPH entered their first ever Yorkshire Veterans Athletic Association event, taking 2 teams to the Road Relay Championship at Bradford. Teams of 3 compete around the cycle track at Wyke Sports Centre, each runner doing 3 laps of the 1.5km undulating circuit. We had a team in the F35 and M35 categories, despite both teams having runners (way...) older than that! Amy took the lead leg for the ladies, handing over to Louise. Di was on the anchor leg. A very respectable 6th place

Five From Five at the Finale
The last (proper) race of the summer league took place this week at Wistow. A warm breezy evening saw a 28 strong team in the red white and blue wind their way around the figure of 8 course. Dom was back, and in style, taking another win to make it 5 from 5, followed by Glynn who got in the top 20. Di finished 4th in her age category and Kevin 5th in his. The ladies team got 9th place, while the men had their best finish of the series coming 4th. Overall, Dom was crowned as c

Jo's Spine Heroics
We've been eagerly awaiting this report by Jo describing her incredible achievement at the Summer Spine earlier this month. Grab a brew, it's a great read....! The Montane Spine Race is a 268 mile ultra marathon encompassing the full length of one of Britain’s oldest national trails, the Pennine Way. Starting in Edale in the Peak District, this rugged and varied trail offers around 40,000 feet of uphill, and takes runners and hikers to some stunning and remote parts of the c

Postal Heat Rises at Bugthorpe
On a baking hot night in the Wolds, 20 brave souls from YPH took on the hills in the penultimate race of the summer league. We were book-ended by Ellwoods - Glynn performing brilliantly to lead us home and finishing in the top 10. Lisa and Andy brought us home to complete another great family affair. Glynn, Charlotte and Kevin all made it into the top 5 in their respective age categories. Unfortunately we were 1 lady short of a team, but the chaps made it to 5th place in team

Hot Dogs to Toast the Top Dog
As if it was all planned.... The best of YPH was on show at last night's summer league race at the Knavesmire. Dom Carter stormed to another win to defend his Championship crown and the Posties enjoyed a post race celebration with a BBQ on the mire. A great turnout both on and off the track - 30 runners in red white and blue and great support round the track. Huge congratulations to Dom, 4 wins from 4 this year confirms his title - a 4th YPH Champion in as many years. It was

Heat and Hills
The York and District Road Race League returned to Easingwold this week, on a very warm Tuesday evening. Another strong Postie turnout saw 27 of us charging up Crayke hill, including new recruit Meg and a returning Charlotte. It almost goes without saying that Dom Carter was king of the Crayke Climb, taking his 3rd victory in as many races. Strong runs from our top 6 men saw us get into 5th place. Charlotte led the ladies home, and backed up with some brilliant runs behind he

They can't Get Carter
Really running out of headline ideas for Dom's heroics... He delivered another master class on the hills of Pocklington at the second race of the York and District Road Race league. After winning race 1 by nearly 2 minutes he did the same again, leading the Posties home in a time of 32:59. Rachel was our first Lady home, followed by Di, Harriet, Emily (welcome back!), Deanna, Lucy and Lisa, the team finishing in 9th place. Di came second in the F50 category In an amazing tur

A few words from our Chairmen
We had our 2026 AGM this week (minutes to be distributed soon) and I thought it would be good to post out their inspiring comments, which I found encouraging and were warmly received by those present: Simon M: "Thank you everyone for coming and for your support over the last year or so, both for the club and for me personally. Thank you Jim and the rest of the Committee for their support and hard work. I recognise their contribution that is mostly behind the scenes. We really
