York Postal Harrier Dom Carter delivered a stunning performance to win the first York and District Road Race League 10k of the season at Tadcaster.
Dom got the 2025 series off to the perfect start, demolishing the field and finishing 90 seconds ahead of his nearest challenger.
On a hot night and a hilly course, Dom led the race from start to finish, coming home in a rapid time of 33 minutes and 37 seconds.

That set the tone for a good night all round for the Posties, with strong efforts from the men's and the ladies' teams.
The men had five runners inside the top 50 and finished fifth team overall. Aidan Adams, Damian Mawer, Tom Cantrell (the happiest man in the race), Simon Partridge and Neale Holmes all put in strong performances to secure a top five place.
Charlotte Oakes led home the ladies, with an impressive time of 42:26, as they claimed sixth place in the team standings. Di Campbell, Lou Mamalis, and Hannah Slevin followed Charlotte home to help beat Easingwold Running Club into seventh place.
With some other great performances from the 30-strong Postal Harriers team, the rest of the season is looking good.
The next race in the series is on Tuesday 13 May at Pocklington.
