YPH entered their first ever Yorkshire Veterans Athletic Association event, taking 2 teams to the Road Relay Championship at Bradford. Teams of 3 compete around the cycle track at Wyke Sports Centre, each runner doing 3 laps of the 1.5km undulating circuit.
We had a team in the F35 and M35 categories, despite both teams having runners (way...) older than that!
Amy took the lead leg for the ladies, handing over to Louise. Di was on the anchor leg. A very respectable 6th place finish for the girls. For the gents, Andy got us off to a flyer, handing over to Mark F, followed by Marc. An 8th place finish for the chaps. Big thanks to team manager Harriet for entering and supporting us - it would be great to get more teams out for the next one.
The summer league was brought to a close with the Heslington Handicap race - racers starting according to their average times over the season. 20 Posties made the start line on a warm evening, Jon was the first of us home, Rachel was our first lady. A big well done to Charlotte who ran a PB.
After the race, we headed to the presentation evening. Fuelled by Pie, Peas and beer we celebrated Damien's and Dom's individual awards. The men's team managed a trophy too, finishing in 6th place overall.
A massive well done to everyone who represented team YPH in what was a fantastic season.
