Dom Carter secured the York District 10k Road Race League title in emphatic style at Bugthorpe on Tuesday.

Needing one victory from the last two races of the series, Dom led from start to finish.

After a surprise second place in the Knavesmire 10k two weeks ago, he was back to his best on Bugthorpe’s brutal hills, winning by almost one minute.

With four wins from five races, Dom can’t be caught in the overall standings, confirming his status as the best 10k runner in York.

Another strong round from Postal ladies

The ladies team also made short work of the toughest course in the series so far.

Outstanding performances from Charlotte Oakes, Hannah Slevin, Di Campbell, and Harriet Sleight bagged the posties fourth place in the team standings.

The men came in sixth with Tom Cantrell, Alex Boynton, Neale Holmes, Mark Pearson, and Simon Partridge following Dom home.

The next race is at Wistow on Tuesday 8 July.
