Striding in Sunny Scarborough

An early meet near York Station saw a team of Postal Harriers and some special guests board a coach to the coast for the Yorkshire Coast 10k. There were 20 runners for the 10k, and a little one for the fun run, plus a few who weren't taking on the out and back along Marine Drive. Conditions were absolutely perfect for a run and a day out. Team spirit was (mostly) on display as Emma stormed to a PB, helped round by Charlotte, while Amy and Di duked it out to the finish line both claiming victory with a 1 second swing each way in both Gun and Chip times!

The 10k runners then stuck around and cheered in Hughie Pearson as he took on the 2.5km fun run leaving his Dad in his wake. Fish and chips were soon calling, and after our feast Wes treated us to a game of beach cricket. Jon and Di showing some glorious cover drives while Mark served up some proper pace bowling.

With everyone's thirst needing to be quenched, we made our way back to the coach via a few public houses which helped to liven up the ride home. Huge thanks to everyone who came, and a special thank you to Deanna and Simon P for organising what was a brilliant day, showcasing what being a part of YPH is all about.
