A few words from our Chairmen

We had our 2026 AGM this week (minutes to be distributed soon) and I thought it would be good to post out their inspiring comments, which I found encouraging and were warmly received by those present:
Simon M:
"Thank you everyone for coming and for your support over the last year or so, both for the club and for me personally. Thank you Jim and the rest of the Committee for their support and hard work. I recognise their contribution that is mostly behind the scenes.
We really are the best of clubs. From training to competing to visiting fellow members in hospital!
We’re about every member but it would be remiss of me not to mention Dom Carter. Whether it’s park run, PECO, Summer League, training, etc., etc., etc…! He personifies several of the things that being Postal is all about. Well done Dom and well done everyone!"
Jim C:
"Thanks for attending this year’s AGM and I’m sorry I can’t be there in person but I’m
working away.
First, I would like to thank all committee members for their continued dedication and
enthusiasm in keeping this club moving forward. YPH may not be the largest club around
in terms of members but behind the scenes it has to comply just like the rest!
It is particularly pleasing to see new members joining the club and quickly becoming part
of our welcoming and inclusive environment. YPH STRONGER TOGETHER!
As a club we have maintained a strong presence in both the Summer League and PECO
XC where the men’s team got promoted to the first division and the women finished an
impressive third in their premier league!! Special mention has to go to Dom Carter who
not only WON the Men’s Summer League (with Jordan that means YPH have won the
men’s Summer League 3 years out of the last 4!) but also came third in the Men’s PECO!
If you haven’t tried Summer League or PECO before, have a go. Also don’t forget to join
the YPH WhatsApp community groups!
Equally important are the social aspects of the club and our combined Presentation Night
and Xmas Do worked really well (congratulations [to the award winners] Kev, Charlotte and Di - well deserved).
Thanks need to go to Deanna and Simon for getting this done in a very short space of
time! Hopefully there’s more social stuff to come and I encourage everyone to get on
board and join in.
On the training side Coach Whitby has our backs on this week in week out and I can’t
praise him enough for his commitment and dedication! Thanks and best wishes also to
Becky for her sessions over the last few years - hopefully she will be back in the near
future to continue? We are hoping to get a few club members LiRF-trained to help Mark,
as Wesley has started to do.
Here’s to another successful year whether that’s as a team, individually or just PB-bashing."
