Results Round Up to 17th Feb

There were some fabulous performances from the 13 Harriers taking part in parkrun this week. We also had Drew heading to Blackpool to take on the Great North West Half Marathon.

In a new addition I’d also like to hear from anyone who has seen one of our own doing something that embodies the spirit of YPH. Read on to find out more and thank you to my spy on the course for sharing this week’s story.

Great North West Half Marathon

194th - Drew Mitchell 1:43:18

York parkrun

20th - Simon Middleton 18.45

28th - Darren Baker 19.20

84th - Kevin Armstrong 21.47

229th - Andy Ellwood 25.22

329th - Lucy Turner 28.02

462nd - Lisa Ellwood 31.58

Nostell parkrun

6th - Patrick Hough 20.12. Superb time on that course from Patrick with a hill finish. Would have been nicely sub 20 on a flat track.

Heslington parkrun

10th - Danny Clayton 19.01

11th - Mark Thompson 19.08

31st - Jon Davies 20.23

49th - Jason Platten 21.10

135th - Gareth Fowler 24.26

262nd - Helena Senior 29.24

Great to see some bigger performances at Hes. Danny and Mark knocking on the door of sub 19 and Jon closing in on sub 20. Another huge PB for Helena, going sub 30 for the first time.

The spirit of YPH award this week goes to Mark who ran back to support Helena over the last 1K. Whilst it’s our legs that’s do the running, a bit of encouragement goes a long way so well done Mark. My spy also tells me if you take your big hi viz jacket off you will save at least 30 seconds so we look forward to reporting on your first sub 19 soon!

It’s great up north

Well done to the three Posties taking on the legendary GNR on Sunday. Andy Heather was first back in 1:39:14. Looking good for a bash at sub 3:30 around the streets of York next month. Hannah Smithson

A first class weekend

Plenty of evidence of YPH runners in action over the weekend. We had 20 runners taking part in 7 different parkrun events. Ian just missed out on a podium finish by 21 seconds at the Allerthorpe Triat
