Back to school

YPH Training – Wed 30th

Hi there Harriers! With another fantastic set of accomplishments this weekend it’s back to the basics this week for Wednesday training.  I am pleased to announce that we can now use the outdoor all-weather facilities at Bootham School between 7 and 8 pm .  Please see note below from the School:

“Security are on site and they will be instructed to open up the courts and turn on the floodlights between these times. Please advise your members to come in to school through the main vehicle entry at the end of Portland Street, off Gillygate. The pedestrian entrance off Bootham will be locked at these times on a Wednesday.”

I propose that we continue to meet at The Minster Inn at 18:30 for a gentle warm up and jog round to the School at 18:45 where we will complete the warm up and begin the main session.  For those who struggle to make this time feel free to join directly at the School.  This week will be a little experimental as we see how to make best use of the space provided; that said, there will be a mix of variable pace run drills and our favourite – core strength!

As I have mentioned the cost of the facility is £25 per session to cover the lights.  My aim is to keep cost to members as low as possible – it will be £1 or £2 depending on numbers turning out.  Please bring a bit of cash with you to cover this (I don’t take cheques or credit cards 😊)

I have provisionally booked the space on a fortnightly basis with a review date of pre Christmas.  Be great to get your feedback after the session as to how you find it and whether this frequency of use over winter is OK or whether we should increase/decrease?
