Coach has gone soft. For one week only.

Training is on as usual tomorrow, meeting at the Minster Inn at 18:30 for our customary warm up. With many of our runners tapering for the York Marathon or 10 miles this weekend the session will be a gentle run geared to conditioning. For those taking part it’s too late to improve your fitness now but you can negatively impact your performance if you don’t taper sensibly.


We will run two steady loops of the following course at a 5 out of 10 effort. For those not racing at the weekend there is an option (well not really!) of incorporating a sprint, or two, up and down Water End - just to add a bit of speed and strength training into the session.

It should be mandatory to have a hotdog checkpoint in every race. I want to see them at the 10K Summer League and 5K in you've got to stop and get a hotdog down, or 3 in my case. I was bloody hungry
