Beer Olympics

Who fancies a bit of fun on Sat 1st June? The annual beer runner events return with a marathon relay and the beer mile.

Can you form part of the YPH relay team? DGB is your man for more info.

This writer thinks we have some potential contenders in the beer mile. Men of young age who can drink and run. Anyone spring to mind?

The ladies record looks ripe for the taking as well. Could be an agenda item for the post run chat after tonight’s inaugural ladies run.

Check the Beer Runners post for more info:

Hi all - big news! Hope the drink / run training is going well!? A reminder that the York Beer Runners annual highlight event Marathon Relay and Beer Mile is only a month away - a whole afternoon of running, beer and laughs on Saturday June 1st. Taking place in its usual location - the grass running track next to the cycle path in between Knavesmire Wood and York College. From 1pm we will be holding a marathon distance relay - teams of between 7 and 13 runners run a mile each (4 laps of the grass track) until they hit 26 miles - can your team beat last year's 2:45 record? Bring a baton - anything will do - we had some real creativity last year. Should be all done by 4pm and then we'll follow with the main event - the fourth York Beer Mile. 4 beers. 4 laps. There will be an official rules race for the York Beer Mile championship trophy - https://www.beermile.com/rules Men's record 6:54 Women's record 12:28 There'll also be an anything goes race if you want to freestyle with cider, wine, non alcoholic drinks in plastic pots etc. Please let us know if you're pulling together a team for the marathon relay or would like to join one. Need inspiration? Take a look at this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujrxjZnsjEY See you on June 1st!

Forthcoming Ultra Event

We've been contacted by Peter Lowton, joint organiser of the Rangers Ultra events. He tells us we had a Harrier take part in one of his events last year, I'm guessing that means Dee, Dave or Jo. Any
