Club Kit Update

Many thanks to everyone who attended our AGM at Spark:York last night, whether it was in person or via the Zoom call. For those who couldn't make it, we have some exciting news regarding club kit.

One of the challenges over a number of years has been the production and sizing of our official club vest. Not to mention the fact that the club has had to hold stock, something that isn't really ideal for a small club at a time when costs are rising.

To counteract that, we will be moving to a new supplier, Sprinters. https://www.facebook.com/runningtees/

Sprinters are a well established business based in North Yorkshire and they already supply a number of running clubs as well as providing finisher t-shirts for established events such as Hardmoors and Punk Panther. They also produce a good range of trophies and medals.

In the next few days we will be starting a bit of a competition, inviting members to suggest options for our new official club vest. Whilst we are very fond of our traditional vest, there are many production and financial barriers to continuing with this type of design. We absolutely want to retain our traditional colours though, just in a different design that then incorporates vests and t-shirts in mens and ladies fit and sizing.

At the moment we are working with Sprinters to come up with some design ideas but we also want to hear from you. As soon as we have the initial designs available we will publish them on our website and invite you to vote for your preferred choice as well as make suggestions.

Sprinters will also be able to produce a much wider range of club kit such as hoodies, hats, bags, jackets and more. Members will be able to order online direct from Sprinters and have the new range of products delivered direct to your homes.

We apologise to newer members who are still waiting for their club vest. We will use this new supplier to get your vest or t-shirt to you as soon as possible and we like the idea that new members are presented with their club shirt at a club training session.

There are numerous benefits to the club in adopting this new approach. We won't need to hold stock of kit as there are no minimum order requirements so we will be able to order vests /t-shirts to wear in races as each new member joins and then present it to them at club nights. This is a much better option for the club from a cashflow perspective.

Members will also be able to go online (as you can now) and order the 'leisure' wear range of YPH items.

Watch this space for more info and if you have any questions please get in touch.
